My name is Martin Karlsson (b. 1971) and I am a multidisciplinary artist with a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship in the Arts, focusing on photography, and a Bachelor of Visual & Media Arts. I have also studied creative writing and music. Since completing my first degree in 2004, I have worked across a range of art forms including video art, film, photography, poetry, and music.
I work at the intersection of poetry, movement, and the natural world, exploring how the human body connects with its environment. My work examines how memory, language, and landscape interact, using materials and processes that emphasize change, transience, and transformation. Through writing, photography, and movement, I aim to reveal the traces we leave behind and how they reflect our inner lives. Conceptually grounded yet deeply personal, my practice seeks meaning and beauty in what is temporary, fragile, and constantly changing.
